This season, we competed in the Rocket City Regional in Huntsville, Alabama, and in the Smoky Mountains Regional in Knoxville, Tennessee.

For the 2023-2024 season, we settled on our signature black and hot pink look! 

We competed in the Smoky Mountains Regional in Knoxville, Tennessee, and in the Rocket City Regional in Huntsville, Alabama.

Our mentor, Taylor Whisenant, won the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award at the 2024 Rocket City Regional, based on an essay submitted by our team members!

We also competed at our first offseason event, the RiverBOaT Rumble, in Louisville, Kentucky!

For the 2022-2023 season, we took on the 538 team number, reviving an old team once coached by two of our mentors, Drew and Taylor Whisenant. This season, we competed at the inaugural Magnolia Regional in Laurel, Mississippi, and in the Rocket City Regional in Huntsville, Alabama.

Renaissance Robotics, FRC Team 8733, was founded at Athens Renaissance School, in Athens, Alabama, starting with just 9 students in our first year.

We competed at the Rocket City Regional in Huntsville, Alabama, where we won the Rookie All-Star Award.

After getting an invite off of the Priority Waitlist, we competed at the FIRST Championship in Houston, Texas, where we recieved the Highest Rookie Seed Award for the Carver Division, finishing Qualification Matches 13th out of 75 teams.

Team 538 was founded as the Dragon Slayers at Arab High School, in Arab, Alabama in 2001. Mentor Drew Whisenant was a student participant on 538, and he and mentor Taylor Whisenant both coached 538 while it was housed at Arab High School. Renaissance Robotics took on the 538 team number in 2022 during a "rebirth" of the team at Athens Renaissance School.
